The Open Innovation Course, developed part of E³UDRES² – Ent-r-e-novators explore how openness transforms education by making knowledge accessible, shareable, and co-created. You will learn about the history and philosophy of openness, practical ways to use and create Open Educational Resources (OERs), and how innovative approaches such as Artificial Intelligence or MOOCs can reshape learning and teaching.
Learning Objectives:
This Course aims to:
Introduce the principles, history, and philosophy of openness in education.
Explain key concepts such as the 5R framework and Open Educational Practices (OEP).
Provide skills for finding, evaluating, and using OERs effectively.
Support students in creating, remixing, and sharing OERs.
Explore the role of Artificial Intelligence and digital tools in open education.
Encourage collaboration and co-creation of knowledge through open pedagogies.
Familiarise students with MOOCs and digital learning resources as tools for lifelong learning.
Competencies: In line with the EU Digital competencies DigComp 2.2, this course will contribute to the development of:
Information and data literacy: locating, evaluating, and managing open resources.
Digital content creation: designing, remixing, and licensing OERs.
Communication and collaboration: co-creating digital artefacts and engaging in open educational practices.

Problem-solving and innovation: using AI, MOOCs, and emerging technologies for creative and effective open education solutions.
Outcomes: On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Define and explain key concepts of open education and OERs.
Apply the 5R framework (retain, reuse, revise, remix, redistribute) to educational resources.
Identify, evaluate, and use high-quality OERs from trusted repositories.
Create and share original OERs with appropriate Creative Commons licensing.
Demonstrate how AI and digital tools can enhance open education practices.
Participate in collaborative and co-creative open pedagogies.
Reflect on examples of open assignments, MOOCs, and student-created digital artifacts as models for practice.
