SUMMARY:Clinical Cases in Psychoanalysis: Epistemological\, Methodological\, and Operational Issues
DESCRIPTION:Apply here\n \nApplication deadline: 26 October 2026 \nThis workshop aims to address and propose principles—epistemological\, methodological\, conceptual\, and operational—for the development and presentation of clinical cases\, so that the practice of social and individual care can use these cases as examples for articulating and resolving problems. A further aim of the workshop is to open this framework explicitly to the perspectives and practices of Social Work\, including\, but not limited to those engaged in the Doctoral Research Center for Social Work. From this standpoint\, clinical cases are not only sites of intrapsychic meaning-making but also intersections of institutional structures\, social inequalities\, and collective processes that shape developmental trajectories. For professionals and researchers in social work\, the clinical case can thus function as a mediating tool between individual experience and social context\, enabling a reflective analysis of how care practices are embedded in organizational\, cultural\, and policy-related frameworks. \nDetails\nCourse Content \nBy highlighting the characteristics of the clinical case in psychoanalysis (the subjective nature of the data\, the work of constructing and interpreting meanings for a life history)\, it is proposed to consider them as examples of paradigmatic matrices (as Thomas Kuhn understands these terms): they serve to show how problems are formulated and resolved within the framework of a given system; considering psychoanalysis as a hermeneutic science\, as Winnicott says\, “an applied science based on a science.” This perspective makes it possible\, in dialogue with the literature on this topic\, to organize the descriptive and conceptual material necessary for the elaboration and construction of the case\, differentiating the phenomena and the descriptions of the dynamic relationship between them; factual concepts\, that is\, those with an adequate empirical referent in phenomenalreality; and metapsychological concepts\, as speculative auxiliary constructs\, which are metaphors and instruments used to explore phenomena and their relationships. The second part will consist of a condensed lecture held by Prof. Leopoldo Fulgencio followed by discussion. Both parts of the seminar can be attended independently. \nCourse Times \n26 October 2026 20:15 – 21:45 (CET) \nTutors \nProf. Dr. Leopoldo Fulgencio\, Associate Professor — Institute of Psychology\, University of São Paulo (USP)\, Brazil. Visiting Researcher at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da / EUt+)\, Darmstadt\, Germany. SUMMARY:Continuous Improvement (Lean Green Belt)
DESCRIPTION:Application deadline: 7 October 2026 \nLearn how to improve processes\, solve real business challenges\, and earn a globally recognized Lean Green Belt certification. \n \nDetails\nCourse Content \nHow do successful organizations continuously improve their performance? How do they reduce waste\, increase customer value\, and create a culture of continuous learning and improvement? In this elective\, you will learn the principles and tools of Lean Continuous Improvement and apply them to a real-life improvement challenge. Throughout the course\, you will work on an A3 improvement project\, enabling you to translate theory directly into practice. You will start by exploring the foundations of Lean\, including the five Lean principles and the eight wastes. Next\, you will learn how to understand customer value using tools such as the Kano Model and Net Promoter Score (NPS). The course then focuses on process analysis through Value Stream Mapping (VSM). You will learn how to map current processes\, identify waste and bottlenecks\, and prioritize improvement opportunities. Using the Kaizen methodology\, you will define problems\, investigate root causes through techniques such as the 5 Whys\, and develop effective improvement solutions. You will also gain hands-on experience with Lean concepts such as flow\, takt time\, line balancing\, pull systems\, Kanban\, 5S\, and visual performance management. Through simulations and practical exercises\, you will discover how these tools contribute to more efficient and reliable processes. In the final part of the course\, you will focus on implementation and sustaining improvements. Topics include Toyota Kata\, Hoshin Kanri\, the X-Matrix\, Obeya\, stakeholder management\, and the ACCA dialogue model\, helping you understand how improvement initiatives can be aligned with organizational strategy and successfully embedded within teams. As part of the elective\, you will also have the opportunity to earn an internationally recognized Lean Green Belt certification\, demonstrating your ability to analyze and improve processes using proven industry methodologies. By the end of the course\, you will be able to identify improvement opportunities\, analyze processes\, solve operational problems\, and implement sustainable improvements that create value for both organizations and their customers.  \nCourse Times \nWeekly meetings at 10:00-12:00 (CET) from 09 November 2026 – 29 January 2027.
