In my professional experience, I have always sought to align research with societal and industrial value, viewed through the lenses of sustainability and design processes. My background lies in translating ‘sustainable’ into a practically implementable design vision and embedding this within organizations, among other things by linking the strategic and operational levels of design, production, and use. I have formed a deep understanding of what is needed to create research and societal impact around sustainability, value preservation, material innovation, and design. I view sustainability in design as a combination of ecological and societal impact and connecting stakeholders, both within and between organizations, as well as at strategic and operational levels.
