Skills: Eduardo Medeiros is a Geography Professor, an Integrated Research Fellow in Setúbal Polytechnic Institute - and CIEQV - Life Quality Research Center (Thematic Line - Social Sustainability and Entrepreneurship), and an Associated Research Fellow in DINÂMIA'CET-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. He has a Ph.D. and post-Ph.D. in Geography - Regional and Urban Planning, and more than 200 publications, including more than 80 published papers, 15 books and 30 book chapters. His research interests are focused on EU Cohesion Policy, Territorial Impact Assessment, Territorial Cohesion, Development, and Cooperation, Environmental Sustainability and Spatial Planning. He is a DG REGIO, URBACT III and EU b-solutions expert, a member of the scientific advisory panel of ESPON and the European Commission Academic Sounding Board of the Cohesion for Transitions Community of Practice and a contributor to the European Commission Reflection Group on the future of Cohesion Policy. He is also a Regional Studies Association Fellow and a Fulbrighter. He coordinated 10 projects and was a member and advisor of several DG REGIO, ESPON and FCT projects. He was invited as a project adviser and to write reports and position papers for DG REGIO the World Bank and the European Parliament. He was invited to be a keynote speaker in more than 60 events. He is a member of the scientific and editorial committee of several journals and a peer reviewer of around 50 journals. He was a final Jury of the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2022 and 2025. He was the lead expert in the Main Area of Governance in the Preparatory Action “New European Bauhaus Knowledge Management Platform” and organiser of four workshops of EURegionsWeekUniversity and chair on one.
