Franziska Proksa (Bruckner) is Interim Deputy Head of the Institute of Creative Media/Technologies and Head of the Research Group Media Creation at St. Poelten University of Applied Sciences. Her education includes master's degrees from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Vienna, where she served as a University Assistant from 2009 to 2013. She was a lecturer at the University of Vienna, Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Campus Hagenberg, among others. In 2017, she earned her doctorate, which was awarded the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Award. She has organized the international symposium series Animafest Scanner and ANIVAE at IEEEVR, and co-coordinates the AG Animation of the German Society for Media Studies. Her research focuses on machine-learning-assisted film analysis, immersive storytelling in virtual and augmented environments, and generative AI, for which she has led numerous national and international projects, including the Immersive Media Lab (FFG COIN), VRinMotion (FWF PEEK), and Climate Media Frames (GFF FTI). Currently, she is head of the AniVision project (FWF-DFG Weave with the University of Tübingen) and part of the Visual Heritage project (FWF Joint Doctoral Program with TU Wien).
