Area of expertise: Social sciences
Skills: My research focuses on the relationship between physical activity, health promotion, family wellbeing and human ecology, with particular interest in how active lifestyles and outdoor environments contribute to health, resilience and social cohesion. My work integrates perspectives from social sciences, health sciences and education, exploring the role of physical activity as a key factor in sustainable wellbeing across the lifespan. I have experience in the development of interdisciplinary research proposals submitted to international and national funding programmes, including Erasmus+, the FCT Scientific Employment Stimulus and the Fundación La Caixa research fellowships. In addition to research activities, I teach in higher education as an Invited Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and supervise undergraduate internships in areas related to tourism, nature-based activities and health promotion.

My research interests include active lifestyles, nature-based physical activity, family health, wellbeing and sustainable communities. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary research that connects physical activity, public health and social wellbeing with real-world contexts, contributing to healthier and more resilient societies.

I welcome opportunities for international collaboration, joint research projects and co-supervision of master’s and doctoral students within the E³UDRES² alliance, especially in research related to health promotion, physical activity, nature-based wellbeing and sustainable living environments.
