Skills: Maruf is a young researcher currently studying the socio-cultural impacts of temporary labour migration. He is doing his PhD at the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. His research interests lie in migration and socio-cultural change, religion, rural development, rural livelihoods, and social communication. His work experience includes project execution in the social development communication sector, labour migration, local-level development, gender issues, child education, and health. His further interest involves engaging himself in the action-oriented development process with a strong fundamental understanding of how to work it out in certain social contexts. Hence, he plans to work directly with the grassroots beneficiaries.
